Meet Our Gymnastics Leadership Team
Emily Schoelzel (Kramer) – Gymnastics Camp Director This will be my third summer as Gymnastics Camp Director, and I’m especially excited to be back after being on maternity leave last summer. I’ve been part of the JCC family since 2011, when I first started as a part-time coach during summer camp, and it’s been so special to grow within this community over the years. Camp has always been one of my favorite parts of the year, and I’m so excited to spend the summer with your gymnasts, helping them learn, grow, and have an amazing time!
Abby Tarlo – Gymnastics Director Abby has been part of the JCC community for most of her life—starting in preschool and growing through gymnastics and camp! She began as a gymnastics coach, worked full-time after college, and returned in 2019 as the Recreational Director before stepping into her current role as Gymnastics Director. After some time away, Abby is back and excited for another great summer of gymnastics camp!
Sierra Black – Gymnastics Coordinator Sierra is heading into her third year at the J and is a vital part of our gymnastics program. Her passion, energy, and dedication help create a positive and encouraging environment for all of our campers. You’ll see Sierra at camp Monday through Friday, leading activities and supporting campers every step of the way!

We do our best to fulfill friend requests but cannot guarantee anything as it depends on ages and skill level.
Your daughter gets to dress up however she likes according to the theme. The girls then walk down a “catwalk” of mats and show off their outfits! It is also a chance for them to earn points for their Maccabi team!
For our younger campers, space fills VERY quickly. We would suggest registering as soon as possible.
We focus on full session campers but may be able to fit in weekly campers depending on overall registrations.
Our performance day entails two groups at a time showing off the dance they have been working on all session. The performances are broken down into two blocks so parents can support their children without being committed to a long time frame.
It depends on the age group and at what point in the year it is. Generally, if your daughter is younger (1st or 2nd grade) it is less likely than if your child is older (3rd – 8th grade).
