Camp StarQuest is a four-week Musical Theater and Performing Arts Intensive that teaches the fundamentals of theater, voice, music, and dance – all in the process of creating a fully staged production of a hit musical. Join us as we fuse a traditional summer camp philosophy with a top-notch mindfulness based performing arts program designed to keep our campers invigorated, engaged, challenged, and happy! Students will have access to professional lighting, sound and dressing rooms in our state-of-the-art theater.
We do not swim daily at Camp StarQuest. We are too busy acting, singing and dancing. This summer, however we may have a late day rehearsal with some fun pool time festivities TBD. Campers can use the pool daily after camp or during the weekends
Our specialty staff is made up of theater professionals, from DFW to Broadway, ready to ensure our campers shine from the inside out. We will have workshops this summer led by Broadway Star, Jeremy Landon Hayes, and casting agent, Teresa Natera from Core Talent. Campers at Camp StarQuest will have the unforgettable opportunity to perform their main stage production in front of a live audience of over 300 people in our state-of-the-art Zale Auditorium, complete with stunning set design, costumes, and lighting—creating a truly magical night that they’ll cherish forever. We end camp with Battle of the Stars – our version of Maccabi battling it out in artistic competitions with camp ending in songfest, an award-ceremony and final appreciation circle.

ADVENTURE, IMAGINATION & PURE FUN!
Fall down the rabbit hole with Alice as she navigates the curious world of Wonderland on a journey of self-discovery. When young Alice finds herself in a strange world where everything seems upside down, she must find her way home…and find herself along the way. As she travels through Wonderland, she encounters all of the iconic characters that audiences have come to love: including the ever-tardy White Rabbit, the grinning Cheshire Cat, a cool Caterpillar, the wacky Mad Hatter, and the hot-tempered Queen of Hearts. Whether this is your first experience with Alice or your hundredth, you’ll fall in love all over again with this timeless story of adventure, imagination, and pure fun!

Everyone's favorite ogre is back in this hilarious stage spectacle, based on the Oscar-winning smash hit film and outrageous Broadway musical.
Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

Alise Robinson brings more than 25 years of experience working
with youth in a variety of facets including producing children’s
musical productions, spearheading and leading the J Performing Arts
Space program, coaching youth in mindfulness and empowerment,
teaching preschool, creating awarding-winning toy lines and
consumer goods, licensing children’s entertainment, developing and
branding children’s intellectual properties and serving as a camp
director, where she has created transformative, enriching
experiences that foster personal growth and teamwork in young
campers.
Her accomplishments include JPAS receiving “best theater classes
for aspiring actors” in Dallas Child Magazine, being named one of
License! Magazine’s “top 40 under 40” licensing executives, she
authored the children’s book series “Space Craze”, has won more
than 45 prestigious national toy design and production awards, and
has appeared on national and international television as a
spokesperson for a variety of brands including ELLE magazine. The
common thread throughout Alise’s career has been her dedication
to making a positive impact on children’s lives. Her quest to
combine her love of camp, working with children, branding
expertise, on-camera experience and passion for theatre has led
Alise to spearhead the J Performing Arts Space and to pioneer Camp
StarQuest and Camp StarPower, one of Dallas’ most sought-after
musical theater and performing arts camps along her latest camp
initiative, called One-Weekers, specialty one-week camps!

Miller Wendorf is a sophomore English major at UT. His first foray into theater was in his school's production of The Wizard of Oz in 4th grade, where he played the title character. He's been performing ever since then, either as an actor, a singer, a cellist, or some combination of the three. Currently, he's a member of the UT Concert Chorale and an executive officer of the Longhorn Singers show choir.

Beverly is a rising junior at the University of Texas at Austin. She is double majoring in Vocal Performance and Costume Design. Beverly loved Assistant Costume designing the Lion King at the JCC back in 2024, and is so excited to be back!

Sophia is a senior at Loyola University Chicago, majoring in theatre with minors in philosophy and musical theatre. She is excited to be back at JPAS. She was previously a counselor at StarQuest in 2021, 2022, and 2023. When she’s not at camp, Sophia enjoys spending time at Lake Michigan, eating sushi, reading, and hiking. After graduation, she plans to teach elementary theatre or art. She is looking forward to meeting everyone!

Juliet has been in the theater world ever since she was a kid. She is a graduate of KD Studios Conservatory, College of Film & Dramatic Arts in Dallas. Juliet loves acting and can't wait to share her passion with her campers! She is looking forward to having the best summer ever!

Rehan has been involved in JPAS productions since fourth grade, and theater has been a big part of his life ever since. This is his second year working as a counselor at Camp StarQuest. His favorite musical is Dear Evan Hansen, and he also loves to travel and explore new places. He is so excited to be back at camp and can’t wait for another amazing summer!

Yes, unless of an illness. The theater is a team sport, and we need everyone present to be set up for success.

No, we are busy creating and inspiring our inner artists. However, we may offer a late day rehearsal with some swim time at our new deluxe pool complex! TBD
We infuse youth empowerment and mindfulness into our arts curriculum. In addition to providing a top-notch performing arts education, we teach children the importance of self-love, kindness, and gratitude by creating an empowerment and personal development toolbox that builds confidence and 21st-century life skills.
