Meet Our General Counselors

Hey y’all! My name is Olivia Goin and I am so excited to be a counselor this summer at StarQuest and StarPower! I am currently a communication design major at University of North Texas. I grew up doing theatre at the JCC, and I am a former StarQuest camper, and Camp Chai counselor! I am a musical theater nerd, Wicked being my favorite right now, and I love rock and roll! I am so excited to join the StarQuest and StarPower staff this summer, and I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Tatiana is a 2025 graduate of Booker T. Washington HSPVA. She has been doing theatre since she was 9 years old and she loves to create and tell stories on stage. This will be her first time working at StarQuest, but far from her first time with JPAS. She has performed in 6 JPAS productions including Mary Poppins Jr. as Mary Poppins. Other than theatre, she also enjoys playing saxophone and piano, crochet, baking, and practicing her french braiding skills. She is so excited to be sharing the magic of JPAS with campers this summer!

This is Jennifer's 5th year working with JCC at either the J Performing Arts Space and/or StarQuest or One-Weeker Camps. She is excited to be back with all the lovely humans involved and ready to have an amazing summer! Jennifer works professionally as an actor, stage manager, and designer in the DFW area. In her free time, Jennifer performs with the Dallas Street Choir and volunteers with fightinghomelessness.org. She recently was part of the Guys and Dolls Jr. production team working alongside all our actors. She can’t wait to make memories that last a lifetime this summer with all of you!

Gali is originally from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. He’s currently living in Dallas, training on his technique, taking dance classes at Live Arts Conservatory and working on-stage after graduating last winter with his Musical Theater associates at KD Conservatory. Some of his favorite works have been performing Davey (Newsies), Principal (KD Cabaret “If I Ain’t Got You”), Pablo Del Valle (Native Gardens), Ensemble (Crazy For You) / (Light in the Piazza) and partake in a Coca-Cola Bev commercial music video. He’s more than excited to jump back into action after working with the kids on the Guys and Dolls Jr. Production, ready to seize their talent and craft.

  5. Tech rehearsals will take place on Friday, June 27, Monday, June 30, Tuesday, July 1. It is super important and mandatory; campers DO NOT miss camp on these dates.
  6. Overall, please note, that Camp StarQuest is a musical-intensive summer camp experience fused with a traditional camp philosophy – that culminates with a fully staged production for family, friends, and the community.  Therefore, it is important campers attend every day of camp unless they are sick.  PLEASE DO NOT MISS CAMP! 😊 We’ve got a ton of accomplishing, lots of fun and laughs to be had, and a lot of artistic skills to be learned.
  7. This year's musical production of Frozen JR. will be on Tuesday, July 1st at 6 pm. ALL CAMPERS MUST ATTEND.
  8. Please make sure you read the camp Guidebook and StarQuest’s Playbook!
  9. Camp StarQuest campers will sign in and begin their day in the Big D room.
  10. If you filled out an authorization form for dispensing medicine, please print the form off from campdoc.com and have your camper personally hand it to your camper’s counselor.
  11. Bring a water bottle. It is important our stars stay hydrated.
  12. No open-toe shoes or sandals. Please wear sneakers and if you would like bring dance/or jazz shoes.
  13. Wear clothing that is comfortable to move, dance, and rehearse in.
  14. The week of June 2 we will send an email letting you know who your camper’s counselor is.
  15. Please review our cell phone/iPad policy found in the Camp Guidebook with your camper. Cell phones and iPads are not to be used by the campers during camp hours unless permitted by StarQuest staff.
  16. Please download and reference the Dallas J Summer app often for camp pictures and alerts such as inclement weather, carpool changes, etc. You can download it on the Apple App Store or Google Play. You can also visit the J Facebook page, JDallasCamps Facebook Page, or jdallascamps.org during camp for all camp alerts regarding inclement weather, and carpool changes, as well.
  17. Before and after-care children are either dropped off or picked up in the lodge. Details in Guidebook.
  18. Carpool Tags and Car Tags: If your camper(s) is carpooling (Carpool Tag) with other families please fill out the carpool tag form on campdoc.com and log into your account. Soon you will be able to visit the camp website to find detailed information about carpool procedures that will help answer any questions you may have.  You can also reach out to jcamp@jccdallas.org for specific questions anytime.
  19. If you are on Facebook, please become friends with J Performing Arts page and our JPAS Dallas Instagram.  We will be posting pictures throughout the camp.
  20. Again, Frozen JR, our Musical Production Finale will be on Tuesday, July 1st at 6 pm. The performance is open to friends, family, and the community. Tickets will be available for purchase. More details to follow.
  21. Battle of the Stars: Two action-packed days of complete and utter fun – July 2 and July 3.  Please do not miss these days either.  They are super fun and important because our campers have closure at the end of camp. After Battle of the Stars, on the last day of camp we have our big song fest… announce the winner, and have an end-of-camp finale that includes our final appreciation circle tradition which ends in hugs and often tears because we don’t want the summer to end.
  22. Please mark your calendars. We will be having a Camp Parent Night via Zoom on June 4th at 7:00 pm. Join us.  Zoom link will be sent out soon.

Can’t wait to make memories that last a lifetime – see you on Monday, June 9!

Shine Bright,

Alise Robinson
